  1. I think its kinda messed up how Rochester doesnt love Antoinette anymore, since they just got married
  2. Wow, he dont remember his own wedding...
  3. Aww he thinks shes so prettyyyy.
  4. So he only wanted to get with her, but he wasnt really in love with her, but yet he still married her.
  5. I thnk its cute how they spend some time together even though things between them two arent that great.

  1. So after the fire, they just all get seperated because they have nowhera to live.
  2. Antoinette gets teased at in her new school.
  3. I don't like how Antoinette's parents visit her every once in a while.
  4. It makes me sad, how noone went to Antoinette's mother's funeral...
  5. This book kind of reminds me of my friend, whos house burnt down.

  1. Antoinette's mom gets married! And she's the bridesmaid!
  2. Annette and her husband want to move, well at least she does, because she feels like noone likes her in the neighborhood.
  3. So their whole house burned down, and most of them saved themselves.
  4. Annette flipped out on her husband because he trusted blacks as being their servants..how ruuuude.

5. Comments


  1. A little white girl was teasing Antoinette because she was colored and the wouldn't leave her alone...how rude.

  2. Antoinette makes a new friend, Tia, and they become real good friends.

  3. Antoinette's mother is happy that she finally made some new friends, and she decided to stay away from her private life so she doesn't ask any questions.

  4. The two new friends got into a fight, and Tia runs away from Antoinette..

  5. Her mother and her start getting frustruated because they feel not good enough because of their clothes being gross and dirty.

  1. So what did the new neighbors want from them?

  2. What did Antoinette feel like when she finally made a new friend?

  4. I don't think the only reason why Tia ran away from her was because she cheated in a game, but also because of her physical apperance..do u?

  1. This chapter is just about Antoinette and her new friend...and how people came to their house, and they felt left out because they were colored and they thought they were worse than everyone else because of their clothes being all gross and shaggy.

  1. So the book starts out with the summary of Antoinette's family and their past life.
  2. Her and her family don't fit in the Spanish Town, which is the white people area.
  3. Antoinette didn't have any friends, and her only friend in the neighborhood. Mr. Luttrell, out of nowhere shot his dog and left the town.
  4. Everyone says that Antionette is wayyy too pretty for her husband...
  5. This is similar to what we read about in class, which was the whole racism thing, and how people of certain races and colors don't fit in their community so they're kind of being left out.

  1. So after her only friend left her, she had noone else that she trusted in the whole neighborhood?
  2. Why doesn't their family want to visit them?
  3. Who killed (kidnapped) Mr. Luttrell?
  4. Right, so if the whole neighborhood is white, why is it called the Spanish Town?

  1. So the book starts out with Antoinette being really pretty, and people thinking that shes way too pretty for her husband, and her family is the only colored family in the whole neighborhood and they are being discriminated against.
